Pyramid Lake
- Pyramid Lake is a freshwater lake in Washoe County, Nevada, United States. The largest natural freshwater lake in the state of Nevada, it has an area of approximately 22 square miles (57 km2). It is located on the Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation and fed by the Truckee River.
- It was formed about 10,000 years ago when its basin was blocked by a lava flow from Mount Tenabo. Before then it had been connected to Walker Lake through ancient drainage channels that are now filled with debris.[1] The Washoe people named this body of water “Pyramid” because they thought that its shape looked like pyramids built by early inhabitants who lived nearby.[2]

The National Automobile Museum is located in the heart of Reno, and it has a collection of over 200 cars and motorcycles. The museum is open daily and is free to visit–it’s a great place to take your family!

Reno Artown Festival
Reno Artown is a free, three-day festival that takes place in downtown Reno every year in July. It features music, dance and theater performances as well as art shows and exhibitions. The festival was started by the Reno City Council in 1982 with the goal of providing an annual gathering place for artists to meet with their community and showcase their work while having fun together at the same time.
Reno Artown has grown over the years into one of America’s largest free arts festivals with over 80 events taking place during its three days! It draws more than 100,000 visitors each year making it by far Nevada’s biggest event outside of Burning Man (another great thing to do when visiting Reno).
